Opening Times/ winter

The workshop is typically open between 10:30am and 5pm monday to friday.  During the winter Julia will be open on most weekends by appointment only.                               

If you are making a special journey to see us please ring at least a day in advance to avoid disappointment as Julia may be away at other gallery's or delivering work and the workshop may be closed.

Directions

Coldstream lies on the Scottish Border between Newcastle and Edinburgh on the A697; and is just 12 miles west of Berwick upon Tweed. Travelling west through Coldstream the Hirsel Estate is found past the centre of town on the right, if coming from Edinburgh or the west the estate is just past the health centre at the edge of town, on the left. The Estate entrance is marked by a brown tourist sign and a large Hirsel Estate sign.     

Julia's workshop is set in the The Hirsel's Craft Centre, opposite the lake, which has ample parking, a cafe, children's playground, museum, gift shop and toilets as well as three other craft units including a pottery. The craft centre is surrounded by beautiful parkland with walks through rhododendron woods, along the river Leet and to the lakeside hide.
