Hares
Six or seven hares lollop after their shadows around the rim of this tall bowl. Decorated on both sides of the glass.
Hares are such an evocative animal, whether disappearing through a hedge or literally haring off across a field they are beautiful and wild. In this design I was influenced by prehistoric animal drawings, so not only do the bowls have a frieze of running hares sandblasted into the inner surface of the bowl, but a border of line drawn etchings on the outside too. This gives the pattern depth and movement and alludes to the way hare disappear in the blink of an eye. There is also a moon gazing hare in the base of the bowl looking up at its running mates.
