I love drawing fresh bright birch leaves in spring, they are so soft and vibrant. To create the illusion of looking into a tree canopy I have sandblasted the design on both sides of the glass so leaves overlap each other. I have also sprinkled tiny moths amongst the leaves, again on both sides, but they aren’t obvious until you get your eye in. The shadow this bowl casts is lovely too.
