I have been having some flights of fancy, and this small one-off piece is one of the pieces that has come from that. I love the intensity of deep cobalt blue glass and decided to capitalise on that by decorating a fantasy of moths flying against a stylised night sky. There aren’t any constellations you will recognise and some of the stars seem to have gone supernova, but as I said this is just a piece of whimsy. An original design by Julia Linstead, Glass.
Hand blown lead crystal bowl
The pattern is hand drawn and sandblasted into the surface of the glass, so each piece is completely unique.
